Menifee requires campers, recreational vehicles, boats and trailers to be stored off-street on a driveway or yard area. On-street storage in front of the owner's (or host's) home is allowed only for a maximum of 48 hours at a time and 4 days per month, strictly for loading/unloading. The general 72-hour rule of Menifee Municipal Code § 12.20 also applies to any vehicle or trailer left on a public street.
Per the City of Menifee Code Enforcement parking handout (cityofmenifee.us Document Center File 229): 'campers and recreational vehicles must be stored off street in an area designed on your property for vehicle storage. This may include your driveway or yard areas.' Temporary on-street storage 'in the street in the front of your house' is permitted for 'a maximum of 4 days per month and no longer than 48 hours at a time,' and is 'limited to loading [and] off load of equipment and supplies only.' Only the registered owner may park the RV in front of his or her own house; a visiting owner may park only in front of the host's home (with the host's permission). The general on-street parking rule (Menifee Municipal Code Chapter 12.20) further provides: 'You may park a vehicle or trailer on a public street for no longer than 72 hours in any one location. After 72 hours, the vehicle must be moved a distance greater than 500 feet from the original location.' This codifies California Vehicle Code § 22651(k) (72-hour abandonment) at the local level. Off-street RV storage on private property is governed by the Title 9 Development Code (zoning), which generally requires RVs/boats to be screened or located behind the front setback; verify your specific zone with Community Development.
Citation under Menifee Municipal Code Chapter 12.20 and California Vehicle Code § 22651(k); RV/vehicle may be tagged and towed at owner expense after 72 hours in one location, or sooner if exceeding the 48-hour / 4-days-per-month RV street limit. Report violations to Code Enforcement (951) 672-6777.
