Menifee has no general overnight parking prohibition for ordinary passenger vehicles on city streets. The operative limits are the 72-hour rule, posted-sign restrictions, and a 2-hour RV limit on signed non-residential streets.
Ordinance No. 2009-51, which adopted Menifee Municipal Code Chapter 12.20 (Vehicle Parking), contains no blanket overnight parking ban for standard passenger vehicles. Overnight street parking is governed instead by Section 12.20.030 (72-consecutive-hour maximum in one location), Section 12.20.050 (no parking where signs are posted or curbs are painted giving notice), and Section 12.20.160, which lets the city impose a 2-hour daily limit on recreational vehicles on signed city highways outside residential districts after an engineering study. RVs, boats, and trailers face the separate residential-district prohibition in Section 12.20.150, and commercial vehicles over 10,000 pounds GVWR cannot park on residential streets at any hour under Section 12.20.140. Always check posted signage, since the City Engineer may establish restricted parking and no-stopping zones street by street.
Where a posted restriction applies, violations are infractions punishable by a fine established by the California Vehicle Code, each day a separate offense (MMC 12.20.190); citation requires appropriate signage (MMC 12.20.180), and vehicles may be towed under CVC Sections 22650 and 22850 (MMC 12.20.040).
