Section 315-48N covers recreational vehicles parked on private property in any residentially zoned district (all R designations). They must keep a minimum five-foot setback from rear and side lot lines, though there is no minimum setback from the principal structure itself. If a recreational vehicle sits in the street yard (the area facing the street), it must be parked on the driveway or on an improved surface such as asphalt or concrete rather than on grass or bare ground. The definition in § 315-48N(1) covers boats and trailers, snowmobiles and their trailers, minibikes or trailbikes and their trailers, unoccupied tent campers and travel trailers, all-terrain vehicles, and personal watercraft and their trailers.

Section 315-48N(2) sets a length and height cap: on residential parcels under five acres, utility trailers and recreational vehicles cannot exceed 32 feet in length, not counting the trailer tongue and hitch, and 13 feet in height; on parcels of five acres or more, the cap rises to 37 feet in length and stays at 13 feet in height. Section 315-48N(3) flatly prohibits using a parked camping trailer or recreational vehicle for habitation anywhere in the City. The Plan Commission may grant relief from these and the chapter's other parking standards under § 315-48O upon application to the Zoning Administrator.
