Jefferson County Code § 22-82, "Storage of major recreational equipment," sets a flat 72-hour cap on how long recreational vehicles and equipment can be placed in a residence's driveway or any portion of its front yard, with a single exception carved out for property in the agricultural zoning district. The rule applies across the county's zoning districts, so a boat trailer, travel trailer or camper parked in front-yard view for more than three days is a zoning violation unless the lot is zoned agricultural. Side and rear yards are not addressed by this section, so the 72-hour clock is specific to the driveway and front yard.

A related but separate rule, § 22-83, "Camping," prohibits camping in all areas of unincorporated Jefferson County except in campgrounds and parks where camping is permitted; that section governs occupying an RV overnight as living quarters rather than simply storing it, and it applies regardless of zoning district. Both sections sit in Article III, Division 1 of the zoning chapter, which sets baseline rules that apply on top of each district's specific use list. Enforcement runs through the zoning administrator, who can refer a continuing violation to the corporation counsel for prosecution under the chapter's general penalty provision.
