Lakewood, OH Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

Lakewood Codified Ordinance 351.17 (Parking Commercial Vehicles and Recreational Equipment) restricts on-street parking of recreational equipment, defined by reference to Section 1147.02 of the City's Zoning Code (which covers items such as boats, boat trailers, travel trailers, camping trailers, motor homes, and similar equipment). The ordinance prohibits parking that recreational equipment on any street or highway within the City for a period in excess of six consecutive hours. Because Lakewood is a densely built inner-ring suburb of Cleveland with narrow streets, it does not provide a residential RV/boat on-street parking allowance; owners must move recreational equipment within six hours and generally store it off-street. The general 24-hour limitation of CO 351.18 reinforces this by prohibiting any vehicle from remaining in one location in excess of 24 hours. Ohio Revised Code 4513.63 separately authorizes removal of vehicles, including recreational equipment, left on a street for more than 48 hours as presumptively abandoned.
