Under Code § 24-201(e), motorized homes, camping trailers, pick-up campers, travel trailers, boats and boat trailers cannot be parked or stored on a residential lot except as the section allows: stored in the rear yard whenever reasonable access exists, or in the front yard if no part of the vehicle extends over or into the street right-of-way. A wood or cyclone fence around the rear yard does not count as denying reasonable access, so it cannot be used to justify front-yard storage instead. Front- or side-yard storage that creates a traffic hazard or blocks the corner-lot sight triangle is separately barred. Living in a stored RV is a distinct offense unless the owner holds a special revocable permit tied to rebuilding a residence on the lot.
