Full Breakdown

Under Zoning Code § 264-29B(11), a residential property may keep outdoors "no more than one boat and boat trailer, camping trailer or recreational vehicle," and "no part of such storage area shall be located in a front yard." The boat, RV, or trailer "shall not be used for living, sleeping or housekeeping purposes." A second unit, or any front-yard placement, breaks the zoning chapter. Portable garages covering a boat, auto, or trailer are also barred October 15 to May 15 (§ 264-29C). For improper storage, code enforcement posts a notice of violation on the unit and mails the owner by registered mail (§ 264-48).

Violations & Fines

Improper storage is a zoning violation: the City posts a notice on the boat, trailer, or RV and mails the owner by registered mail under § 264-48, then pursues prosecution for continued noncompliance.
