085 of the Overland Park Municipal Code sets the city's baseline on-street parking rules. Subsection (a) prohibits stopping, standing or parking on the roadway side of a vehicle already at the curb, on a sidewalk, within an intersection or crosswalk, within 30 feet of a safety zone, alongside a street excavation, on a bridge or in a highway tunnel, on railroad tracks, on a controlled-access highway, in the median of a divided highway, wherever signs prohibit stopping, or on a street parkway. Subsection (b) adds restrictions that apply even briefly, except to pick up or drop off a passenger: no standing or parking in front of a public or private driveway, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, within 20 feet of an intersection crosswalk, within 30 feet of a stop sign, yield sign or traffic signal, within 20 feet of a fire station driveway (75 feet on the opposite side when posted), or anywhere official signs prohibit standing. on non-holidays, protecting mail carrier access.
