Vineland, NJ Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Vineland's on-street parking rules split stopping, standing, and specific-purpose parking into separate offenses under Article II of the Traffic Ordinance. Vineland City Code § 694-6 prohibits any person from stopping or standing a vehicle on the streets or street segments listed in Schedule III at § 694-32, a designation distinct from the outright no-parking-at-any-time list in Schedule I and the hours-based restrictions of Schedule II. Section 694-8 targets purpose-based misuse of the street rather than location: no person may park a vehicle on any street to display it for sale, to clean, wax, or grease it, or to repair it, except where the repair is needed because of an emergency.

Section 694-3 makes clear that these city-specific time and purpose limits are layered on top of, not a substitute for, the state's own stopping-and-standing restrictions under N.J.S.A. 39:4-138 and other provisions of Title 39; a driver can violate both at once. The Vineland Police Department enforces these provisions as part of its general traffic authority, and § 694-29 gives officers authority to have an unattended vehicle towed and stored, at the owner's expense, when it is found in violation and deemed a nuisance, such as on the south side of Cherry Street between Howard and State Streets near Newcomb Hospital. Convictions under Part 1 of the Traffic Ordinance are penalized under the general penalty clause of § 694-28(A).
