Las Vegas, NV Public Conduct: Public Urination (2026)

City code makes it a misdemeanor to urinate or defecate in, on, or about any public place other than an "appropriate sanitary facility" -- defined as a urinal, toilet, commode, or similar fixture enclosed from public view. The ban also reaches private property the public is admitted to (stores, parking lots) and any private property without the owner's consent. "Public place" is defined broadly: streets, sidewalks, alleys, parks, parking lots, even vacant or undeveloped lots and the stairwells and doorways leading to them. A person who does urinate or defecate in a public place must also immediately clean up and dispose of the waste in a proper container, or that failure is a separate violation. The only defense is a verified medical condition -- alcoholism or drunkenness specifically does not count.
