Summary

Skateboards are banned from Las Vegas roadways and off Fremont Street's posted sidewalks, with dangerous riding barred citywide.

It shall be unlawful for any person to ride or use a coaster, roller skates, scooter, skateboard, toy vehicle or similar device: (A) On any roadway except while crossing a street at a crosswalk...; (B) On the sidewalks of Fremont Street between Main Street and Seventh Street which, because of the high volume of pedestrian traffic normally present, shall be posted with signs indicating that the use of these devices on the sidewalk is prohibited.

Las Vegas Municipal Code 11.22.130 bars riding a skateboard, scooter, roller skates, coaster or similar wheeled toy on any roadway except while crossing at a crosswalk, where the rider must follow pedestrian rules. The sidewalks of Fremont Street between Main Street and Seventh Street are posted off-limits to these devices because of heavy foot traffic. Any other public property can be closed to them by posted signage, and riding anywhere in the City in a manner dangerous to people or property is unlawful regardless of location. A companion section, 11.22.135, makes riding on posted private property open to the public a trespass.
