Farmersville, TX Public Conduct: Skateboarding Rules (2026)

Section 71-22 of the Farmersville Code of Ordinances prohibits operating a skateboard, roller skates, roller blades or a battery-operated toy vehicle on three specific public sidewalks: McKinney Street eastbound and westbound from Windom Street to Main Street, Main Street northbound and southbound from College Street to Railroad Street, and Washington Street northbound and southbound from Candy Street to Railroad Street. These are the sidewalks fronting the city's historic downtown square. C. 12101 et seq. The Onion Sheds are the city's historic agricultural warehouse buildings on the square, now used for events and markets, and the code singles out the ADA ramp because wheeled recreational traffic there creates a collision hazard for disabled visitors.

The Farmersville Police Department and code enforcement officers issue citations under this chapter; there is no permit or age exception written into either section. Because the restriction is tied to named streets and a named building rather than a citywide skateboarding ban, riding a skateboard on a residential sidewalk outside the square is not reached by Sections 71-22 or 71-23.
