Gretna, LA Public Conduct: Skateboarding Rules (2026)

Sec. 50-11 of the Gretna Code of Ordinances, adopted by Ordinance No. 4941 on August 11, 2021, prohibits operating a bicycle, skateboard, scooter or 'other similar means and conveyance' on any city sidewalk and on any area outside a designated bicycle pathway. The ordinance layers on a second, more specific prohibition for Gretna Plaza, the city's civic and retail core: wheeled conveyances of the same kind are barred there outright, in a zone the Code defines by name as the area bounded by Fourth Street and running north and south between Huey P.
