Louisville Metro Code § 74.06 prohibits riding a skateboard in any publicly-owned parking lot or parking structure, and in any area expressly posted as skateboard-prohibited, including Waterfront Park zones designated by the Waterfront Development Corporation. The parking-lot ban lifts during a special event or festival covered by a Metro Event Permit. Riders under 18 also must wear a helmet on public rights-of-way, streets, roadways and parks under § 74.07(A)(2). Home rule cities inside Jefferson County, such as St. Matthews or Jeffersontown, may set their own separate rules.
