Gilbert requires all STR operators to obtain and maintain a Town STR license under the June 2023 ordinance. Operators must meet insurance and emergency contact requirements.
The Town of Gilbert STR ordinance (Article III of Chapter 14) requires property owners to obtain and maintain a short-term rental license. The licensing process includes proof of property ownership, liability insurance documentation, and designation of an emergency contact who can respond to issues. The license must remain active and in good standing throughout operations. Operators must display emergency contact information at the property. All STR operators must also maintain a TPT license for tax collection. Each property requires its own license application.
Operating without a valid STR license results in enforcement action. License revocation may occur for repeated non-compliance with insurance or operational requirements.
