Glynn County, GA Short-Term Rentals: Short-Term Rental Parking Rules (2026)

Section 2-31-6 of the Glynn County Code sets four parking duties for every Short-Term Rental operating in the unincorporated county outside Jekyll Island. The owner or Managing Agency must designate the maximum number of cars allowed on-site and, where that maximum can be exceeded, give guests instructions for off-site parking. Parking spaces on the property must be clearly identified for guest use, and the owner must send guests parking instructions before they arrive, not after. Section 2-31-7(f)(iv) folds the same limit into the in-unit posting requirement: a notice conspicuously posted near the front door must state the maximum number of vehicles allowed on-site and warn occupants that exceeding it is a violation.

The parking maximum an owner sets is also disclosed to the county itself: under § 2-31-8(a)(viii), the initial Accommodation Excise Tax Certificate application must state the number of parking spaces on the grounds and whether they are clearly identified. Because § 2-31-6(d) makes exceeding the posted on-site maximum a violation in its own right, a rental that regularly overflows its driveway into the street or a neighbor's yard gives the county and neighbors an independent basis for a complaint separate from any noise or occupancy issue.
