Montebello Municipal Code Chapter 17.10, Section 17.10.230(B), folds its garage-sale sign rule into the broader garage-sale regulations for R-zoned residential lots. Item 6 limits a garage sale to a single advertising sign displayed on the premises where the sale is held; a resident cannot post multiple signs promoting the same sale, and the sign must stay on the seller's own lot. Item 7 goes further, prohibiting placement of any sign on public property and cross-references the citywide sign code's separate prohibited-signs section, Section 17.62.150, for the underlying public-property ban that applies to every sign type in the city, not just garage-sale signs.

Because a garage sale in Montebello requires no permit or fee under item 8, the sign limit is the only paperwork-free constraint sellers must self-enforce; no city inspector signs off on a sale before it happens.
