Plantation allows garage-sale signs as residential transitory signs. Besides one sign at the house, up to three directional signs may go in the swale of a two-lane residential street, and they must go up and come down the same day.

Section 22-71 covers signs for garage sales, yard sales, moving sales and open houses. In addition to one sign at the residence where the sale is happening, no more than three directional signs are permitted within the swale area of a two-lane street bounded on both sides by residential properties. They are not allowed in the median or on any sidewalk and must be set back at least five feet from the edge of pavement. They may not exceed a height and area of four feet, may only be staked to or pressed into the ground, and may only be posted on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday between 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Violations & Fines
Signs must be erected and taken down on the same calendar day. A temporary sign on private property not removed within seventy-two hours after notice may be removed by city personnel at the owner's cost.
