Yuba City, CA Sign Regulations: Garage Sale Signs (2026)

Sec. 6305(i) exempts garage sales/yard sales signs from Planning permit requirements, but the exemption comes with specific limits: no more than two such signs, each a maximum of five square feet in area and not exceeding six feet in height, and each must be located on private property with the property owner's permission. Timing is tightly bounded on both ends: signs may not be erected more than 24 hours prior to the event, and must be removed no later than 24 hours after the sale concludes.
