6314(i) sets political and campaign signs apart from the City's other temporary sign categories: unlike A-frame signs, banners, or subdivision signs, a political sign needs no permit or zone clearance at all before it goes up. The size and height limits are still fixed by the Code rather than left open: no political sign in Yuba City may exceed 32 square feet in area or ten feet in height, whether it sits on a residential lawn, a commercial parcel, or in a landscaped setback. Timing is tied to the election calendar rather than a flat number of days: signs must come down within seven days after the election, with that election date set by the Sutter County election office rather than the City itself, which matters most for signs supporting candidates or measures on a June primary versus a November general ballot.

The ordinance's placement rule is a safety standard rather than a location ban: a political sign cannot be placed in a manner that interferes with, obstructs, confuses, or misleads pedestrians, cyclists, or motorists, which in practice keeps campaign signs out of the visibility triangles at intersections and driveways that the City's general sign standards already protect. Because political signs are exempt from permitting, the City does not pre-screen sign copy or endorse or reject a candidate's message, and the same standards apply regardless of the size of the campaign or the number of signs a single property owner chooses to display citywide.
