Casa Grande, AZ Special Events & Permits: Parade Permits (2026)

Under Section 10.08.120(A), no procession or parade other than a funeral procession may be held in the City of Casa Grande without first securing a permit from the police chief, and the application must specify the time, place of formation, proposed line of march, destination, and any other regulations the chief sets forth. Funeral processions are treated differently: subsection B lets the chief determine how a funeral procession of vehicles is identified, subsection C bars other drivers from cutting between vehicles of a funeral or authorized procession while they are moving and conspicuously marked (except at intersections controlled by traffic signals or the chief), and subsection D requires each vehicle in the procession to stay near the right-hand edge of the roadway and follow the vehicle ahead as closely as is safe and practical.

Because Chapter 10.08 sits within Title 10, Vehicles and Traffic, violations of the permit and procession rules are treated as civil traffic matters under Section 10.04.070: the court can impose the civil sanctions and penalty assessments required by A.R.S. §§ 12-116.01 and 12-116.02, and each day a violation continues is a separate offense. The Casa Grande Police Department administers the permit and enforces the on-street procession rules for events across the city, including downtown and near the Promenade.
