Casa Grande, AZ Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

Casa Grande Municipal Code § 12.04.040 requires a permit from the parks department director before anyone sells food, beverages or other items in a park, amplifies music or voices, reserves a park or portion of one for a group of more than one hundred fifty people, stays in Casa Grande Mountain Park longer than twenty-four hours, stays in North Mountain Park past eleven p.m., possesses or consumes alcohol in Peart, O'Neil, Elliott, Eastland or Nutt parks, or uses a ramada without a reservation for more than two consecutive hours (measured within the same six-hour window).

Smaller reservations, covering any group wanting a portion of a park, can be obtained from the director under subsection B without meeting the stricter permit standards. Under § 12.04.050, the application must give the applicant's name and address, the sponsoring person or organization if any, the requested day and hours, the portion of the park sought, an estimated attendance figure, a description of the activity, and any other information the director finds necessary. The director evaluates applications under the general policy in § 12.04.060, weighing whether the activity would unreasonably interfere with the public's enjoyment of the park, with public health, welfare, safety and recreation, or with the use and enjoyment of nearby property.

Under § 12.04.070, the director must grant the permit or give written reasons for refusal within three working days, and a denied applicant may appeal in writing to the city council within five working days, with the council required to sustain or overrule the decision within fifteen days. The director may revoke an issued permit under § 12.04.080 for a rule violation, a breach of the permit's conditions, or other good cause.
