Old Bridge, NJ Special Events & Permits: Parade Permits (2026)

Anyone planning, promoting, organizing or selling tickets to an outdoor assembly of 250 or more people in Old Bridge Township needs a license from the Township Clerk before the event, under Township Code § 169-1, Subsection A. The application must reach the Clerk at least 90 days in advance, and a separate license, at $250 apiece, is required for each day and each location the crowd is expected to hit 250 people, though the Township retains authority to waive the fee under Subsection C. Before the Clerk issues the license, § 169-2 requires the organizer to arrange, at their own expense, an enclosing fence with at least four gates, potable water at one gallon per person per day, portable toilets scaled to the crowd, one set per 125 people for events of eight hours or less, doubling for longer events, solid-waste disposal at 2.5 pounds per person per day, medical coverage that scales with attendance, from one basic life support unit at 250 to 999 attendees up to five BLS and two ALS units above 10,000, lighting if the event runs after dark, one parking space per four attendees, security ranging from one to six sworn or licensed officers depending on turnout, and fire-protection equipment meeting state and local standards.

Section 169-1, Subsection F, bars any licensed assembly from running between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., and Subsection E bars sound from carrying unreasonably beyond the event's boundary. Applicants must also carry commercial general liability insurance with a $1,000,000 per-occurrence limit and a $10,000,000 aggregate, naming the Township as an additional insured, under § 169-2, Subsection B(12).
