Chandler, AZ Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

Chandler City Code § 31-7 lists the activities in city parks and facilities that require a permit from the Community Services Director rather than being open to anyone: gatherings of 50 or more people holding "any celebration, parade, service, picnic, or exercise of any kind" (§ 31-7A); moving equipment into a park or setting up inflatable structures, dunk tanks, tents, generators or lights (§ 31-7B); parking or camping overnight in a park or Community Services-administered lot (§ 31-7C); remaining in or entering a park outside designated hours (§ 31-7D); using amplification equipment (§ 31-7E); staging an exhibition, show, performance, lecture or concert (§ 31-7F); running a concession sale under an approved concession operation request letter (§ 31-7G); consuming spirituous liquor (§ 31-7H); and renting facilities generally (§ 31-7I).

m. When more than one group wants the same athletic field, § 31-8A sets a five-tier reservation priority: City use first, then Chandler Youth Sports Association, then nonprofit youth organizations and schools, then private citizen rentals, then organized tournaments, clinics, leagues or play. Pool and aquatic facility reservations follow a separate six-tier order in § 31-8B running from City programs and school-district use down to for-profit or non-resident group events. 1B).
