Peoria, AZ Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

Section 7-72 governs every permit issued under Peoria's park chapter, including the Beer Permits required for group beer consumption under Section 7-65. An applicant files with the Community Services Department stating their name and address, the sponsoring organization if any, the day and hours requested, which park or portion of a park they want, and any variance from standard park rules, then pays the fee set under Chapter 27 of the Code. The Director grants or denies the permit against seven findings: the activity won't unreasonably interfere with the public's enjoyment of the park, won't detract from public health, welfare, safety, or recreation, won't reasonably be expected to involve violence, crime, or disorderly conduct, won't create extraordinary or burdensome expense or police work for the City, the facility isn't already reserved for that date and hour, the applicant hasn't been held responsible for two or more Chapter violations in the preceding year, and the application contains no material falsehood.

The Director must respond in writing within ten days, giving a reason for any denial, and a denied applicant can appeal to the City Manager within five working days; the City Manager then has ten days to decide, and that decision is final but subject to judicial review. Permit holders must stay physically present during the event, keep a copy of the permit on hand for inspection, and may be required to carry liability insurance and pay for City staff supervision or security, all at the permittee's expense; permits are non-transferable between people or locations, and a revoked permit gets no refund.
