Littleton, CO Special Events & Permits: Street Fair Rules (2026)

Section 3-3-2 of the Littleton City Code lists a street fair among the special events covered by Title 3, Chapter 3, alongside carnivals, art and craft shows, circuses and concerts, whenever the event is estimated to draw 100 or more people to a street, sidewalk, publicly owned mall, park or plaza, or other city property. Organizers must apply electronically to the Coordinator, the Community Development Director or a designee, at least 30 business days before the event under Section 3-3-4(A), or 45 business days if alcohol will be sold or served.

00 for organizations exempt from City Sales and Use Tax under Section 3-3-4(C). Street fair permits also cover vendors selling goods, so Section 3-3-7(A)(12) makes compliance with any other required license a condition of the event permit, expressly naming a temporary vendor's license under Title 3 and a special event liquor license under Colorado Revised Statutes Section 12-48-101 for any alcohol sales. The Coordinator can also impose conditions on garbage containers and cleanup, use of amplified sound, traffic control devices, and posting of a cleanup deposit under Section 3-3-13 for events involving food or goods sales.

Applications go to the City Clerk, Finance, Public Works, South Metro Fire Rescue, Police, Community Development and the City Attorney for review, and denial or conditional approval can be appealed to the City Manager's Office within 5 business days. Interfering with or disrupting a lawful street fair, or running one without the required permit, is unlawful under Section 3-3-16 and is a misdemeanor subject to fine and imprisonment.
