Euless, TX Swimming Pools & Spas: Fencing Requirements (2026)

Euless adopts the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code (ISPSC) under Chapter 18, which imposes strict barrier requirements. Residential pool barriers must be at least 48 inches high measured from grade outside the barrier, with no openings that allow a 4-inch sphere to pass through. Horizontal rails on the barrier must be spaced at least 45 inches apart if on the outside, or the barrier must have a solid surface facing outward to prevent climbing. Gates must open outward away from the pool, be self-closing, and be self-latching with the release mechanism at least 54 inches above grade (or on the pool side of the gate with a 3-inch shielded opening). When a dwelling wall forms part of the barrier, any door or window with a sill lower than 48 inches and leading to the pool area must have either a door alarm (audible for 30 seconds) or a power safety cover complying with ASTM F1346. Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 757 imposes additional Pool Yard Enclosure Act standards on pools serving apartments, hotels, and multifamily properties (minimum 48-inch fence, self-closing/latching gate). Mesh safety fences are allowed if they meet ASTM F2286. Inspection is required at final before water fill.
