Containers cannot be filled so full that the attached lid fails to close without a gap (§ 535-10B(2)). (§ 535-10B(4)). Between collections, cans cannot sit at the front or side of a residential, business, commercial or institutional property at all: § 535-10B(5) requires that they be stored in the rear yard with the lid attached. Cardboard set out for collection must be flattened and securely bundled or tied (§ 535-10B(6)), and in buildings with two or more units the owner must mark each unit's receptacle so it is identifiable (§ 535-11E). Multi-unit dwellings must instead use three-cubic-yard dumpsters kept clear of the sidewalk (§ 535-11F).
