Scottsdale Solid Waste Services requires trash and recycling containers to be placed curbside on collection day with lids closed and handles facing the street. Containers must be at least 3 feet from obstacles and stored out of sight between collections.
Scottsdale's solid waste collection (Chapter 24) has specific bin placement requirements. On collection day: containers should be placed at the curb by 5:00 AM; lids must be closed; handles should face the street for automated pickup; containers must be at least 3 feet apart and 3 feet from mailboxes, vehicles, and other obstacles; and containers should not block sidewalks or traffic lanes. Between collection days, containers must be stored out of public view (inside garage, behind wall, or in screened area). Overloaded containers with lids that cannot close may not be collected. Extra bags placed beside containers may be collected for an additional fee. Green waste collection follows separate schedules and container requirements. Bulk trash pickup is scheduled separately.
Containers left curbside outside collection days or stored in view from the street may result in code enforcement warnings and citations.
