EDCO provides bulk pickup for Escondido residents: up to 3 large items on regular collection day by appointment. Eligible items include furniture, appliances, and mattresses. E-waste and hazardous waste excluded.
EDCO Disposal is Escondido's exclusive franchised residential hauler. Single-family residents may schedule pickup of up to 3 large/bulk items per regular collection day at no extra charge by calling EDCO at (760) 745-3203 at least one day in advance. Eligible items include furniture, mattresses and box springs, major appliances (refrigerators and freezers require Freon certification β CFC removal per federal Clean Air Act 40 CFR 82 and CA Health & Safety Code), and similar household items. Excluded: e-waste (TVs, monitors, computers β regulated under CA Electronic Waste Recycling Act, SB 20/50), household hazardous waste (paint, batteries, chemicals), construction and demolition debris, tires, and automotive fluids. E-waste and HHW must go to San Diego County Household Hazardous Waste collection events or the EDCO Buyback & Recycling Center. Items beyond the 3-item limit or ineligible materials can be hauled to the EDCO transfer station for a per-load fee.
