Single-family and duplex customers in Santa Clara are entitled to two complimentary bulky item pickups per calendar year through Mission Trail Waste Systems. Each pickup can include up to 5 large items such as mattresses, furniture, appliances, or bagged items of limited volume. Pickups must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance by calling Mission Trail or using their online portal. Items must be placed curbside by 6:00 AM on the scheduled pickup day. Accepted items include furniture, mattresses, box springs, non-CFC appliances, and bundled yard waste exceeding regular cart capacity. Unaccepted items include hazardous waste, electronics (take to County HHW facility), construction debris, and auto parts. Multi-family complexes receive bulky item service through their property management via a separate scheduled program. Additional pickups beyond the free allotment are available for a fee.
