Chandler runs a dedicated Christmas tree collection window from the first business day after December 25 through the last regular recycling collection day of the second full week of January. Trees go behind the curb line in front of the home under City Code Section 44-6.5 - never inside a refuse container or in the alley.

44-6.5. Christmas trees. Christmas tree collection for a covered residence shall be the first business day following December 25th through the last regular recycling collection day of the second full week of January. Trees shall be placed in front of each covered residence behind the curb line so as not to interfere with vehicular traffic or obstruct pedestrian traffic on or along the sidewalk. Trees shall not be placed inside a City-provided refuse container pursuant to sections 44-2.3 and 44-2.4 or in the alley for collection. The City may designate other collection areas, such as neighborhood drop-off sites, or provide reasonable accommodations for those persons needing special assistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does Chandler pick up Christmas trees?
Collection runs from the first business day after December 25 through the last regular recycling collection day of the second full week of January, under City Code Section 44-6.5 - a several-week window rather than one fixed pickup date.
Can I put my Christmas tree in my trash cart?
No. Section 44-6.5 specifically prohibits placing a Christmas tree inside a City-provided refuse container under Sections 44-2.3 and 44-2.4, and also bars leaving it in the alley; it must be set behind the curb line in front of your home instead.
Where exactly do I put my tree out for collection?
Behind the curb line directly in front of your residence, positioned so it does not block the sidewalk or interfere with traffic. The Director may also designate alternative neighborhood drop-off sites or accommodations under Section 44-6.5.
