Solid waste, recyclables and yard waste accumulated within the city will be collected once each week. Holiday scheduling is adjustable by the Director.(2)Dumpster service or roll-off. Full Breakdown
When a holiday observed by the Solid Waste District falls in a collection week, City Code § 62-51(d)(1) skips that day's pickup and moves it one day later starting the day after the holiday, which shifts every remaining pickup that week by one day. Before the change takes effect, § 62-51(c) requires the District to publish the adjusted schedule in a newspaper of general circulation at least one day ahead of the holiday. The Director can adjust holiday scheduling case by case.
Violations & Fines
Missed a pickup because a holiday shifted the schedule? Check the published adjusted schedule and set your container out the following collection day: there is no separate fine, but early or late set-outs outside the posted window are handled under the district's normal placement rules.
