Antioch contracts with Republic Services for exclusive residential and commercial solid waste, recycling, and organics collection. Each address is assigned a specific collection day (Monday through Friday). Standard service includes three 64- or 96-gallon carts: gray for trash/garbage, blue for commingled recycling, and green for organics (yard trimmings plus food scraps). the evening before collection and returned to an out-of-view storage location within 24 hours after pickup. Scavenging from carts at the curb is prohibited once materials are placed for collection (recyclables become property of the franchisee under Public Resources Code §41950).
