Brentwood Disposal Service provides weekly curbside collection for trash, recycling, and organics throughout Brentwood. Collection days are assigned by neighborhood route, and carts must be at the curb by 6 AM on service day. Carts must be removed from public view by the end of the collection day.
Solid waste collection in Brentwood is provided under an exclusive franchise agreement with Brentwood Disposal Service (a Republic Services company), governed by Brentwood Municipal Code Chapter 8.16. Every residential parcel receives three 64 or 96 gallon carts: black for garbage, blue for recycling, and green for organics. Routes are assigned by street address, and residents can look up their collection day through the hauler's online tool. Under Brentwood Municipal Code section 8.16.080, carts must be placed at the curb no earlier than 5 PM the evening before service and must be removed from public view by midnight on the day of collection. Carts should be placed at least three feet apart from each other, vehicles, and mailboxes, with handles facing the house so the automated truck arm can grip the lid side. Holiday schedules typically push collection one day later for the remainder of that week when New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas fall on a weekday. Missed pickups should be reported to Brentwood Disposal within 24 hours for a free return trip. Owners of multifamily properties with shared bins must coordinate through the property manager, and commercial customers schedule separately. Violations of cart placement rules are corrected first by courtesy notice, with citations issued under Chapter 1.08 for repeat offenses.
