Bartow County, GA Trash & Recycling: Pickup Rules & Schedules (2026)

Under Bartow County Code §62-61, every collector of commercial, industrial, institutional or municipal solid waste that uses a vehicle to bring waste to the Bartow County Landfill must first secure a permit; only permitted collectors may dispose of that waste at the landfill (§62-61(b)). The permit requirement does not apply to an individual disposing of household waste generated at their own residence, so long as they use a noncommercial vehicle such as a sedan or pickup truck to bring it to a county solid waste management facility themselves.

00 per roll-off box, run for one calendar year without proration, and must be renewed each year between December 1 and December 31 (§62-61(c)). Permitted vehicles must display the business name, address or phone number, tare weight and vehicle identification number in letters at least three inches tall on both sides, along with a county-issued registration decal (§62-61(d)). Municipalities inside the county, such as Cartersville or Adairsville, that collect their own residents' waste with municipality-owned or leased vehicles are exempt from this permit division (§62-64).

Out-of-county waste cannot be hauled across the county line for disposal at a county facility under a hauling contract unless the Bartow County Commissioner approves that contract (§62-35).
