Bartow County, GA Trash & Recycling: Yard Waste Collection (2026)

Bartow County Code § 62-33 defines yard trimmings as leaves, brush, grass clippings, shrub and tree prunings, discarded Christmas trees, nursery and greenhouse vegetative residuals, and other vegetative matter from landscaping, excluding mining, agricultural and silvicultural operations. Section 62-151(9) restricts disposal of that material generated inside the county to the county inert landfill, one of the enumerated forms of waste the Bartow County Solid Waste Management Department accepts under its disposal policy in Chapter 62, Article II, Division 5. The same chapter defines an inert waste landfill as a facility limited to earth and earth-like products, rocks, yard trimmings, stumps, limbs and leaves that will not produce environmentally significant leachate; it may not accept industrial or demolition waste.

Fees for disposal at any county solid waste facility, including the inert landfill, are set by the county commissioner by resolution and must be paid in full at the time of disposal under § 62-152. Only individual county residents disposing of their own household-generated waste, not commercial haulers, may use a public collection center, and no waste may be left outside posted operating hours under § 62-181. Anyone who dumps unauthorized waste, including yard trimmings sent to the wrong facility, at a county solid waste management facility is charged 200 percent of the tipping fee for that load plus the cost of removing the material, on top of any other penalty under § 62-151(d).
