The Property Maintenance Code's garbage and refuse section, § 6-291, governs how residential trash is set out and cleared in the City of Greenwood. Subsection (a)(1) ties removal to each address's assigned pickup day: any rubbish, garbage, refuse or trash, including heavy trash on a designated heavy-trash day, has to come off the curb within 24 hours after that pickup day. Subsection (a)(2) escalates a late can or bag into a declared nuisance and 'safety concern' under § 6-270(b)(3), which lets Code Enforcement issue a notice of correction order to the responsible party rather than treat it as a routine litter complaint; §§ 6-273 and 6-274's abatement and fee provisions then apply.
