Weekly garbage pickup is standard, with recycling collection every other week in most service areas. Yard waste (organics) pickup is offered as an optional service. Multifamily and commercial properties are required to have adequate garbage service. Place carts at the curb by the scheduled pickup time (generally 7 a.m.) and remove them within 24 hours after collection. Holidays may shift pickup by one day. Under King County Code 10.04 and the Solid Waste Management Plan, waste must be disposed at an approved facility.
