Warren, MI Trash & Recycling: Yard Waste Collection (2026)

City Code Chapter 16 sets Warren's curbside collection program, run by the Department of Public Service, for solid waste, yard waste, and recyclables. Under Section 16-3(b), brush must be cut into four-foot lengths or shorter and tied into bundles weighing no more than 35 pounds, with no single piece exceeding two inches in diameter; oversized pieces are left uncollected. Compost bags (grass, leaves, weeds, garden waste, and light brush) must be clear and weigh 40 pounds or less, while bundled newspapers are capped at 35 pounds and one foot thick.

Section 16-4 requires every resident to source-separate leaves, yard waste, compostables, and designated recyclables from solid waste; the city or its hauler can refuse to collect from any address that fails to separate materials.
