170 makes it unlawful for any person to sell, own, possess, or harbor a named list of wild and dangerous species, bear, lion, tiger, leopard, ocelot, jaguar, cheetah, margay, mountain lion, Canada lynx, bobcat, jaguarundi, hyena, wolf, wolf hybrids, or coyote, or any deadly, dangerous, or poisonous reptile, anywhere other than a properly maintained zoological park, circus, scientific or educational institution, research laboratory, veterinary hospital, or animal refuge. The prohibition is absolute for these species inside the city limits; there is no private-owner permit or grandfathering provision in the section.
