Vineland, NJ Building Safety: Plumbing Permits (2026)

The City of Vineland's plumbing subcode fees, set out in City Code § 300-3A(2), charge $15 per fixture or stack for ordinary plumbing fixtures, which include lavatories, kitchen sinks, slop sinks, urinals, water closets, bathtubs, shower stalls, laundry tubs, floor drains, drinking fountains, dishwashers, garbage disposals, clothes washers and hot-water heaters. A higher $75 fee applies to specialized devices: grease traps, oil separators, water-cooled air-conditioning units, refrigeration units, utility service connections and disconnections, backflow preventers with test ports, steam and hot-water boilers, gas piping, active solar systems, sewer pumps, interceptors, fuel oil piping and manufactured home hookups, though gas service entrances carry no inspection fee at all.

Cross-connection and backflow-preventer devices that require annual reinspection are billed $45 per device each year, and water-pressure-booster pumps run $75. Every plumbing permit, no matter how small the job, carries a $50 minimum subcode fee. These fees are paid to the Construction Enforcement Agency, under the Department of Licenses and Inspections, before the permit issues, and are just one component of the overall construction permit fee alongside the building, electrical, fire protection and mechanical subcodes under the same section.
