Taylorsville, UT Business Licensing & Operations: Adult Entertainment (2026)

Taylorsville City Code Chapter 5.82, the Sexually Oriented Business and Employee Licensing Ordinance, requires under § 5.82.040 that any person operating a sexually oriented business hold a valid business license, and any person working as an employee hold a separate employee license, with applications filed in person at the city recorder's office and notarized. Applications must disclose the applicant's names used in the past five years, proof of age, business location and legal description, an authorized agent for service of process, a criminal-background waiver, and any prior denial, suspension, or revocation of a similar license within the past two years.

Section 5.82.050 confines operation to areas zoned for sexually oriented businesses, and § 5.82.060 separately bars serving or permitting alcohol on the premises, or locating within 660 feet of any business licensed to sell alcohol. Section 5.82.080 requires the license official to issue a temporary license within three business days of a completed filing and a final decision within 30 days, denying only for enumerated grounds such as an underage applicant, incomplete application, unpaid fee, disqualifying prior conviction, or noncompliant premises. Hours are fixed under § 5.82.170: no performance, sale, or service before 10:00 a.m. or after 11:00 p.m.

Section 5.82.210 separately bans any patron, employee, or other person from appearing in a state of nudity on the premises, restricts seminude performers to at least six feet from patrons and two feet above the floor, and bars any physical contact or direct tipping while seminude, with a summary of those rules posted at the entrance. Violations are enforced under § 5.82.200, with each day of continuing violation a separate offense, in addition to license suspension or revocation under §§ 5.82.130 and 5.82.140.
