North Las Vegas, NV Cannabis Regulations: Buffer Zones (2026)

1, which sets a 1,000-foot separation from schools (defined as preschool through twelfth grade) and a 300-foot separation from a "community facility" as defined in NRS Chapters 453A and 453D for every establishment type, testing laboratories, cultivation facilities, production facilities, and dispensaries alike. Dispensaries and retail marijuana stores carry an added 1,000-foot separation from each other, and every establishment type must sit at least 1,500 feet from any business holding a nonrestricted gaming license. Cultivation, production, and testing facilities also need a 300-foot buffer from "developed residential" parcels, defined as residentially zoned land where construction on at least one unit has begun.

Subsection d requires proof before the City will even accept an application: the City "shall not accept, nor set for hearing any request unless the applicant provides to the City a survey plat prepared by a Nevada licensed professional land surveyor," with distances measured as "the shortest direct line distance between the front door of the proposed marijuana establishment to the nearest property line" of the protected use. A waiver of the 1,000-foot dispensary-to-dispensary separation is available only through a special use permit from the appropriate governing body.
