Historic-Cultural Monuments
Alameda's Historical Advisory Board must issue a certificate of approval before any building, structure, site or significant tree designated a Historical Monument can be altered, demolished or removed. Section 13-21.5 sets the review standards, and unauthorized demolition of a listed resource triggers a five-year freeze on new building permits for the site.
