RV & Boat Parking

Unincorporated Barrow County limits where travel trailers, RVs, campers, boats, personal watercraft, ATVs and trailers can sit on a residential lot. Code Sec. 89-726(b) bans them from the front yard and requires storage in an enclosed garage or carport, or in a rear or side yard set back 20 feet from the rear line and ten feet from the side line.

Code Sec. 89-732(a)(2) further bans parking in the front yard, or ahead of the house's front building line, in residential districts unless the vehicle sits on a hard-surfaced driveway or inside a carport or garage.

(2)The parking of any vehicle on any lot in any district on other than a surface treated and hardened to accommodate this vehicle is prohibited except as provided herein. In addition, parking vehicles in the front yard or in front of the principal building line in an R district shall be prohibited except on a hard-surfaced driveway or in a carport or garage.

Commercial & Oversized Vehicles
