Carroll County froze all new data processing center approvals for a full year starting February 19, 2026. Under § 158.176, the county will not accept, process, review, or approve any plan for a data processing center as defined in the zoning code until the deferral expires.

§ 158.176 DATA PROCESSING CENTERS; TEMPORARY DEFERRAL. There shall be a temporary deferral on the acceptance, processing, reviewing, and approval of all plans for data processing centers in Carroll County as defined in § 158.002 for a period of one year starting with the effective date of this section (February 19, 2026).
