Cayuga County taxes short-term rental stays at 3% of rent under the Hotel and Short-Term Rental Room Occupancy Law readopted in 2025. Any owner or agent operating a short-term rental, including cabins, camps and RV park units, must register with the County Treasurer within 10 days of starting business and post the resulting certificate of authority.
