Waste Management collects unincorporated Charlotte County garbage, recycling, and yard waste once a week on your scheduled day, paid through a mandatory annual sanitation assessment on the property-tax bill. Punta Gorda runs its own collection.
Charlotte County Solid Waste, Residential Curbside Service
The items must originate from the improved property that is assessed an annual sanitation fee.
Set your Waste Management carts at the curb by 5 a.m. on your collection day, lids closed and not overflowing, spaced clear of mailboxes and cars, then bring them back within 24 hours.
Curbside service includes up to 4 cubic yards of bulk items a week - furniture and appliances with refrigerant removed. Construction debris and larger loads go to the Charlotte County Landfill on Zemel Road.
