Unincorporated Clayton County requires a mechanical permit before installing solar collectors, charged under the county's per-unit fee schedule. Solar collector panels cost $3.50 each and storage tanks $17.50 each, on top of the $50.00 minimum mechanical and gas permit fee set in Section 18-47.
